The total sales for Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) for October 2013 including exports stood at 50,212 units against 58,784 units sold in October 2012, registering 15% de-growth. The domestic sales grew marginally by 0.6% with 36,002 units sold in October 2013, against 35,778 units sold during October 2012. The company exported 14,210 units in October 2013, which fall by 38% when compared to 23,006 units during October 2012.
Commenting on October sales Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, HMIL said, “In this challenging market environment, sales have increased over last month by 17% on account of monsoons, festival buying and strong sales of 11,519 units of new model Grand which received an overwhelming customer response making it to the top five volume sellers within 2 months of its launch.”
Sales Overview , April – October FY 2013-14
The year-to-date sales for April to October period of FY 2013-14 stood at 371,130 units against 376,701 units during the same period of FY 2012-13 registering 1% drop. The domestic year to date sales for FY 2013-14 drop by 2% with 215,994 units sold against 220,001 units sold during same period of FY 2012-13.
