The total sales for Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) for November 2013 including exports stood at 49,681 units against 55,762 units sold in November 2012, registering 11% de-growth. The domestic sales grew marginally fall by 11% with 33,501 units sold in November 2013, against 34,751 units sold during November 2012. The company exported 16,180 units in November 2013, which fall by 23% when compared to 21,011 units during November 2012.
The year-to-date sales for April to November period of FY 2013-14 stood at 420,811 units against 432,463 units during the same period of FY 2012-13 registering 3% drop. The domestic year to date sales for FY 2013-14 drop by 2% with 249,495 units sold against 254,752 units sold during same period of FY 2012-13. Exports decreased at 4% for year-to-date FY 2013-14 at 171,316 units against 177,711 units during the same period of FY 2012-13.
Commenting on the sales, Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. Vice President, Sales and Marketing, HMIL said “At Hyundai the strong focus on Channel efficiency & the addition of the successful new model Grand with sales of 11,007 units along with the strong product portfolio has increased the cumulative market share of Hyundai cars to an all-time high in a declining industry. After the festival season market has been sluggish due to unfavorable macro-economic factors and the low market sentiments resulting lower customer enquiries.
