The sales of TVS Motors including exports for July 2013 got reduced by 5% at 153,676 units as against 161,255 units in July 2012.
Total exports grew by 37% with sales increasing from 19,142 units in the month of July 2012 to 26,145 units in July 2013. The company witnessed a significant increase in sales in the three wheeler segment with sales growing by 112% from 3,301 units in July 2012 to 7,005 units in July 2013 but their impact in domestic market remains feeble.
The year to date sales for financial year 2013-14 stood at 648,170 units, which fall by 5% as against 680,415 units in financial year 2012-13.
Two Wheeler Segment
The sales of two wheelers stood at 146,671 units in July 2013 against 157,954 units in July 2012, registering 7% decline. The domestic sales stood at 126,531 units for July 2013 against 140,862 units in July 2012, reduction of 10%.
The domestic sales of motorcycles sales grew by 8% increasing from 53,355 units in July 2012 to 57,886 units in July 2013. Scooters registered 10% growth with sales of 36,900 units in July 2013 against 40,895 units in the same month of the previous year. The month of July 2013 saw the sales of mopeds fall considerably by 32% with 31,745 units sold as against 46,612 units in July 2012.
Exports registered a growth of 18% with sales increasing from 17,092 units in July 2012 to 20,140 units in July 2013.
