In December 2014,TVS Motor Company registered 19% growth in Two wheeler segment, 61% growth in three wheeler segment. TVS recorded 25% Sales growth in Scooter segment in December 2014 compare to last year of the same month. It sold 181,994 units of motorcycle compare153,358 units to December 2013.Three Wheeler registered 9,886 units including export compare to 6,137 units in December 2013. Total 191,880 units sold in December 2014 compare to 159,495 units of the same month of the last year.
Once again impressive growth in Scooter segment by registering 25% growth, TVS sold 52,441 units in December 2014 month compare to 41,817 units in December 2013. Export could be better compare to its peers companies, in this segment also it shown double digit growth of 19% by selling 24,556 units in December 2014. TVS is a strong player in Motorcycle segment, in this segment it sold more than 70,000 units and registered around 22% growth compare to 57,576 units in December 2013. In Moped, TVS is having monopoly and this product is well accepted in South region of India. Recently some promotion on electronic media was also running. It sold 34,839 units with 4.7% growth compare to same month of the last year.
2014, was mix month for TVS in Two wheeler segment. There are continue fluctuation month on month. September was the best month where it sold 217,447 units and registered 15% growth. Year Q4 or FY 2014-15 Q3 was the difficult. Some new initiative taken by company will improve its sales in 2015. New product development with BMW will also have positive impact on its Motorcycle segment.
TVS segment share is almost flat in Total Domestic sales and in Export. Scooter increased its segment share from 27.3 to 28.8%. Motorcycle segment also increased share from 37.5 to 38.6% in December 2014 compare to December 2013.

It’s basically the product portfolio that did the magic for TVS. It is riding the growth wave in scooter segment. Mc segment is a different ball game all together – where BMW can help – though Itz curious to see how it works in India and that too in smaller cc segment – traditionally dominated by Japs.
