Maruti India Limited’s sold 109,104 units in February 2014 against 109,567 units for February2013, registering a marginal de-growth of 0.4%. Domestic sales grow by 1.8% in February 2014 with 99,758 units against 97,955 units sold in February2013. The exports for the month fall by 19.5% with 9,346 units against 11,612 units in February2013.
The total sales for April to February period of FY 2013-14 were 1,041,691 units which is 0.9% lower against 1,051,497 units sold during the same period of the previous financial year. Domestic sales for the period increased by 0.9% at 951,420 units against 943,156 units sold during the same period of the previous financial year. Exports fall by 16.7% with 90,271 units against 108,341 units exported during the same period of previous year.
Segment-wise Overview
The passenger car sales grow by 0.9% for February 2014 at 84,595 units against February 2013 sales of 83,865 units. The Utility segment which includes Gypsy, Ertiga and Grand Vitara, registered sales of 5,231 units in February2014 against 5,957 units in February 2013 registering 12.2% de-growth. The sales of Maruti Vans – Omni and Eeco stood at 9,932 units in February 2014 marking 22.1% growth against 8,133 units sold in February2013.
The year to date sales for Car Segment for April to February period of FY 2013-14 registered 4.5% growth at 804,437 units sold against 769,441 units sold during same period of previous financial year. Sales for Utility Segment in April to February period of FY 2013-14 fall by 24.9% with 54,620 units against 72,704 units sold during the same period of FY 2012-13. Van sales for April-February FY 2013-14 were at 92,363 units against 101,011 units during the same period of FY 2012-13, marking 8.6% decline.
Car Segment, February2014 – Modelwise Overview
For February 2014, sales of Compact Car Segment which includes Swift, Estilo, Ritz and Celerio had shown healthy growth of 19.4%. The Small Car Segment which comprises models like M800, Alto, A-Star, and WagonR records 9.6% decline.

Sales figures for Dzire is encouraging for April to February period of FY 2013-14 which recorded 20.7% increase against same period of previous fiscal year, while sales of SX4 had declined by 37.7%.
