Hyundai Motor India Ltd registered 9.5% growth in domestic sales for June 2014 at 33,514 units against 30,610 units sold during June 2013. Exports for June 2014 stood at 17,004 units while total sales stood at 50,518 units which records 7.6% de-growth as in comparison with June 2013.
“Hyundai with a volume of 33,514 units has grown by 9.5% over last year on the phenomenal success of Xcent, Grand and Santa Fe. With the extension of excise duty benefit, we hope to maintain the growth in volume while strengthening our product portfolio and improving channel efficiencies.” Said Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP- Sales and Marketing, HMIL.
Ford India:
Ford India sold 11,935 vehicles in combined domestic wholesales and exports in June 2014, registering 36% growth in comparison with 8,771 vehicles sold during June 2013.
The domestic sales were 7,258 units in June 2014; a growth of 51% in comparison with the 7,145 units sold in June 2013. The exports were 4,677 vehicles in June 2014 against 1,626 units during June 2013, registering strong growth of 188%.
“The Government’s decision to extend the excise duty concession is a welcome move and will certainly uplift consumer purchasing sentiments as we head into the festive season over the next few months,” “It reflects the government’s recognition of the importance of the manufacturing sector and its contribution to overall economic growth.”
