The sales of Maruti Suzuki for the for the financial year 2013-14 to date (April-May) including exports declines by 8.69%.   While the domestic sales decades by 6.34%, the exports saw a huge fall by 30.31%. The decline is contribute by negative sentiments growing in the Indian Economy.

Sources suggest that Suzuki has handed over the responsibility of ASEAN, SAARC and African Markets to Maruti Suzuki thereby boosting their chances to explore prospective export markets. Chances are there for the phase out of Estillo and A-Star models and will be replaced by new small car segment.


The cumulative sales of Maruti Suzuki for the month of May stood at 84,677 units including exports. The sales saw a fall by 14,207 units as compared with May of 2012. The year-to-date sales including exports also saw a dip of 8.69% as against same period last year.

The small passenger car segment performs well enough for Maruti under these tough conditions sold 66354 units in domestic market since the beginning of this financial year marking a growth on 9.47%. In the economy compact segment, the Matuti Suzuki Product range saw a steep decline in sales by 23.19%. DZire backs themselves up with a strong performance recording a growth of 10.52% till May for this financial year as against same period last year. Vans and Utility segment is struggling while the premium brand Kizashi is yet to sell a unit in this financial year.

Passenger Cars contributes majority of  the sales for Maruti Suzuki and this in financial year 2013-14, so far their share stays at 84.9%.

Inside the Maruti’s Car Portfolio, 43% sales is contributed by the small car segment including Alto and 800. While Swift, Estilo and Ritz in the Economy Compact segment contributes 34%. Significantly DZire is contributing 24% which is Maruti's lone product in executive segment.

The segment including UV and vans managed to sell off 25,493 units during April-May in 2013 , which saw a decline of 8992 units as compared to same period the previous year. This is a dip in 26.08% as on year-to-year comparison for the same period.
