For the month of November 2013, total sales for Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. stood at 39,255 units including exports which is a decline of 18% as compared against 48,143 units sold in November 2012. The domestic sales stood at 36,261 vehicles for November 2013 against 48,143 vehicles sold during the same month of previous year, marking 22% drop. The exports units for the month were 2,994 units; 116% higher than the 1,388 units during November 2012.


The cumulative sales for the April to November period of FY2013-14 stood at 331,079 units against 347,143 units sold during the same period of previous financial year, registering 10% decline. The year to date domestic sales for FY 2013-14 were 312,484 units against 347,143 units during same period of FY 2012-13, which had declined 10%. Exports for the April-November period of FY 2013-14 slip by 14% at 18,595 units against 21,701 units during the same period of FY 2012-13.

Segment Overview – November 2013

Mahindra’s Passenger Vehicle sales fall by 32% in November 2013 with 16,771 units sold against 26,604 units sold during November 2012.

Sales of Four Wheeler Commercial Vehicles including Maxximo, Gio, Genio & Bolero Pick registered 8% decrease at 13,186 units in November 2013 against 14,353 units in November 2012.

M&M Three Wheeler segment sales witnessed a decline of 15% in November 2013 with 5,861 units sold against 6,867 units sold in November 2012.

Another sorry month for Mahindra Trucks and Bus, as heavy decline continued at 52% at 443 units sold against 931 units sold during November 2012.

Segment Overview – April – November FY 2013-14

The year-to-date sales of Passenger Vehicles for April to November period of FY 2013-14 stood at 150,186 units, registering decline of 17% as against 180,686 units during the same period in FY 2012-13.

The year-to-date sales for four wheeler commercial vehicles including Maxximo, Gio, Genio & Bolero Pick-Up registered 2% growth which stood at 115,738 units against 113,697 units sold in April-November period of FY 2012-13.

The year to date sales for Three Wheeler Segment for FY 2013-14 is at 8% decline at 41,269 units against 44,853 units in same period of FY 2012-14.

The year to date sales for Trucks and Bus were 5,291 units for financial year 2013-14 as against 7,904 units during same period of FY 2012-13 period, registering 33% de-growth.

Speaking on the monthly performance, Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “Post the festive season month of October, the auto industry has turned to further de-growth and continues to remain subdued. Unless some concrete measures are provided for its revival, we do not foresee any immediate turnaround. Factors such as increase in input costs and the depreciating rupee have not helped in any way. At Mahindra, we continue to focus on operational excellence to augment our overall performance and remain cautiously optimistic of the situation”.
