The sales for Maruti Suzuki India Limited for the month of October 2013 grow by 2% at 105,087units sold including exports, as against 103,108 units in October 2012. Domestic sales stood flat with 96,062 units sold in October 2013, as against 96,002 units sold in October 2012. The exports for October 2013 were 9,025 units against 7,106 units in October 2012, marking 27% increase.



The year to date sales for FY 2013-14 were 613,467 units, registering 3% decline against 629,380 units sold during the same period of the previous financial year. Year to date domestic sales for FY 2013-14 also decreased by 3% at 549,330 units against 569,220 units sold during same period of previous financial year. Exports grew by 7% in YTD FY 2013-14, with 64,137 units against 60,160 units exported during the same period in FY 2012-13.

Segment wise Sales Overview

The passenger car sales declined by 1% growth for October 2013 at 79,040 units against October 2012 sales of 79,811 units. The year to date sales for FY 2013-14 for the segment stood 9% high at 492,577 units against 453,497 units sold during same period of previous financial year.

The utility segment which includes Gypsy, Ertiga and Grand Vitara, registered sales of 7,236 units in October 2013 against 7,400 units in October 2012 registering a 2% de-growth. The year to date sales for this segment during April to October period of FY 2013-14 fall by 30% with 33,640 units against 47,766 units sold during the same period of FY 2012-13.

The sales of Maruti Vans – Omni and Eeco stood at 9,786 units in October 2013 marking 11% growth against 8,791 units sold in October 2012. The year to date sales for the April to October period of FY 2013-14 stood at 56,753 units against 67,957 units during the same period of FY 2012-13, marking 16% decline.

Car Segment – Modelwise Overview

The sales of mini car segment which includes brands like Maruti 800, Alto and Wagon-R were 39,379 units in October 2013 which declined 7% in comparison with October 2012 sales of 42,233 units. The sales of compact car segment including brands like Swift, Estilo and Ritz slip by 1% for October 2013 at 22,188 units against October 2012 sales of 22,459 units. The sales of Dzire in October 2013 stood at 17,211 units, marked 20% increase against October 2012 sales of 14,389 units. The sales of SX4 crumbled at 62% in October 2013 at 262 units sold against 695 units in October 2012.

The year to date sales for mini car segment (Maruti 800, Alto and Wagon-R) during April to October period of FY 2013-14 grew by 7% with 243,714 units against 227,256 units in the same period of FY 2012-13. The year to date sales compact cars (Swift, Estilo and Ritz) registers 1% de-growth with 133,985 units sold so far in FY 2013-14 against 135,076 units sold during the same period of FY 2012-13. The sales for Dzire stood at 112,150 against 87,539 units during same period of FY 2012-13, registering 28% growth. And the year-to-date sales for FY 2013-14 of Maruti SX4 decline at 23% at 2,728 units against 3,556 units sold during the same period of FY 2012-13.
