Maruti sold 86,196 units in April 2014 against 97,302 units in April 2013, registering de-growth of 11.4%. Domestic sales fell by 12.6% in April 2014 with 79,119 units against 90,523 units sold in April 2013. The exports for the month increase by 4.4% with 7,077 units against 6,779 units in April 2013.
Segment-wise Sales
The passenger car sales decline by 14% in April 2014 at 65,786 units against April 2013 sales of 76,509 units. The Utility segment which includes Gypsy, Ertiga and Grand Vitara, registered sales of 5,011 units in April 2014 against 5,318 units sold in April 2013 registering 6% de-growth. The sales of Maruti Vans – Omni and Eeco stood at 8,322 units in April 2014 marking 4% de-growth against 8,696 units sold in April 2013.
Passenger Car Segment, March 2014 – Model-wise Overview
The Mini Car Segment which includes M800, Alto, A-Star, WagonR witnessed 25% sales decline as Dzire (Super Compact) sales fall by 18%. Compact Car Segment which includes Swift, Estilo, Ritz and Celerio had registered growth of 10%. Sales of SX4 (Mid-Size) suffers a huge decline of 87%.
