Ford India sold 12,288 vehicles in combined domestic wholesales and exports in May 2014, registering 105% growth in comparison with5,993 vehicles sold during May 2013.
The domestic sales were 6,053 units in May 2014; a growth of 51% in comparison with the 4,002 units sold in May 2013. The exports were 6,253 vehicles in May 2014 against 1,991 units during May 2013, registering strong growth of 213%.
“A stable government is a positive development for overall economic and business sentiment in the country. We are hopeful that the new government will support ongoing industry-friendly initiatives like the excise duty reduction and look at further positive measures to improve consumer sentiment,” said Vinay Piparsania, executive director of Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India.
“We would look forward to the new government undertaking measures such as introduction of GST, rationalization of taxes and encourage foreign investment to promote sustained growth of the economy and the automotive sector.”
