Honda Shine 125 sales sit in just a few variants. In 2025, four variants account for 99.99% of Shine registrations. The 125 Drum alone takes 45.95%.<\/p>\n

  • The 125 Drum leads.<\/strong> At 45.95%, it sells nearly 1.7 times as much as the next variant.<\/li>\n
  • The 125 Disc comes second.<\/strong> It holds 27.26%. Drum and Disc together reach 73.21%.<\/li>\n
  • The Std takes one in five.<\/strong> It accounts for 20.51%.<\/li>\n
  • The Shine 100 DX is already on the board.<\/strong> Launched in 2025, it holds 6.27%.<\/li>\n
  • Everything else barely registers.<\/strong> All other variants together hold 0.01%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Why the Shine 125 sells: market, product and customer<\/h3>\n

    Market<\/h4>\n

    The Shine competes in the 125 cc commuter segment, where Honda calls it the \u201cmost loved motorcycle in its segment\u201d. Two things work in its favour.<\/p>\n

    First, buyers move up from 100 cc bikes such as the Splendor to a 125 cc for better pickup. Second, within 125 cc, Shine has stronger brand awareness than most rivals and, in our assessment, better resale value.<\/p>\n

    Product<\/h4>\n

    The Shine 125 has a 123.94 cc fuel-injected engine, 7.93 kW, 11 Nm and a 5-speed gearbox. It does not peak in any one area. Instead, it balances mileage, pickup and power.<\/p>\n

    Running costs stay low for two reasons. A manual gearbox has fewer wear-and-tear parts than an automatic. The clutch plates also run in oil, which makes them last longer.<\/p>\n

    Customer<\/h4>\n

    The core buyer is an office-going commuter who cares more about reliability and running cost than outright performance. That makes price a deciding factor. At launch, Honda priced the Drum below the Disc, and the cheaper Drum takes the larger share.<\/p>\n
