The sales for Tata Motors in the month of February 2014 stood at 39,951 units compared to 61,998 units in February 2013 registering de-growth of 36%. The domestic sales for February 2014 were 35,315 units as against 58,002 units in February 2013, registering 39% de-growth. Exports grew by 16% in February 2014 at 4,636 units against 3,996 units in February 2013.
During the April to January period of FY 2013-14, the sales stood at 515,511 units against 737,408 units during the same period of previous financial year registering 30% decline. The year to date domestic sales were down by 32% at 470,807 units against 690,129 units sold during the same period of previous financial year. The year-to-date Exports fall by 5% at 44,704 units for YTD FY 2013-14 against 47,279 units in same period of FY 2012-13.
Commercial Vehicles
Sales of commercial vehicles in February 2014 in the domestic market were 23,990 units against 47,389 units for February 2013, registering 49% drop. LCV sales registered 60% decline in February 2014 at 14,881 units against 36,760 units in February 2013. M&HCV sales stood at 9,109 units in February 2014, declining by 14% as against 10,629 units sold for February 2013.
The year to date sales of Commercial Vehicles for the period April 2013 to February 2014 FY 2013-14 stood at 344,992 units against 480,330 units during the same period of previous year, registering a decline of 28%. Year to date LCV sales were 247,179 units against 351,801 units during the same period of previous fiscal year registering 30% decline. Sales of M&HCV for the April to February period of FY 2013-14 drop by 24% which stood at 97,813 units against 128,529 units during the same period of FY 2012-13.
Passenger Vehicles
Sales of Passenger Vehicles for February 2014 grow by 7%, with 11,325 units against 10,613 units sold during February 2013. The sales of the Nano/ Indica/ Indigo range in February 2014 were 9,026, which grow by 16% as against February 2013 sales of 7,769 units. Sales of Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture range stood at 2,299 units in February 2014, decline by 19% against 2,844 units sold in February 2013.
The year to date domestic sales for April to February period of FY 2013-14 is down by 40% with 125,815 units against 209,799 units sold during the same period of FY 2012-13. For the period in review, sales of Nano, Indica and Indigo marked 41% de-growth which stood at 97,426 units against 165,789 units during same period of previous financial year. The sales of Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture range for April to January FY 2013-14 decline at 35% with 28,389 units against 44,010 units in same period of FY 2012-13.
