Maruti Suzuki India Limited’s sales had suffered 11% decline in November 2013, as they sold 92,140 units including domestic sales and exports as against 103,200 units sold in November 2012. Domestic sales fall by 6% in November 2013 with 85,510 units against 90,882 units sold in November 2012. The exports for November 2013 succumbed to 46% reduction with 6,630 units against 12,318 units in November 2012.


The year to date sales for April to November period of FY 2013-14 were 739,247 units which included domestic sales and exports, registered 1% growth against 732,580 units sold during the same period of the previous financial year.
Year to date domestic sales for FY 2013-14 also increased by 1% at 668,480 units against 660,102 units sold during the same period of the previous financial year. Exports fall by 1% in YTD FY 2013-14, with 70,767 units against 72,478 units exported during the same period in FY 2012-13.

Segment-wise Sales Overview

The passenger car sales declined by 4% for November 2013 at 71,649 units against November 2012 sales of 74,793 units. The utility segment which includes Gypsy, Ertiga and Grand Vitara, registered sales of 5,840units in November 2013 against 7,439 units in November 2012 registering a 21% de-growth. The sales of Maruti Vans – Omni and Eeco stood at 8,021 units in November 2013 marking 7% growth against 8,650 units sold in November 2012.

The year to date sales for Car Segment for FY 2013-14 registered 7% growth at 564,226 units against 528,290 units sold during same period of previous financial year. The year to date sales of Utility Segment during April to November period of FY 2013-14 fall by 28% with 39,480 units against 55,205 units sold during the same period of FY 2012-13. Van sales for April-November FY 2013-14 were at 64,774 units against 76,607 units during the same period of FY 2012-13, marking 15% decline.

Car Segment – Brandwise Overview

The sales of mini car segment which includes brands like Maruti 800, Alto and Wagon-R were 38,040 units in November 2013 which grew by 4% in comparison with November 2012 sales of 36,679 units.
Sales of compact car segment including brands like Swift, Estilo and Ritz slip by 24% for November 2013 at 18,112 units against November 2012 sales of 23,849 units.

The year to date sales for mini car segment (Maruti 800, Alto and Wagon-R) during April to November period of FY 2013-14 grew by 7% with 281,754 units against 263,935 units in the same period of FY 2012-13. The sales for Dzire went up by 26% with 127,436 units sold during April to November period of FY 2013-14 against 101,041 units during same period of FY 2012-13. The year to date sales compact cars (Swift, Estilo and Ritz) registers 4% de-growth while sales of SX4 are down by 31% for April to November period of FY 2013-14 as compared against same period of FY 2012-13.
