Maruti India Limited’s sold 113,350 units in March 2014 against 119,937 units for March 2013, registering de-growth of 5%. Domestic sales crumble by 5% in March 2014 with 102,269 units against 107,890 units sold in March 2013. The exports for the month fall by 8% with 11,081 units against 12,047 units in March 2013.



The total sales for FY 2013-14 were 1,155,041 units which recorded 1% de-growth in comparison with 1,171,434 units sold during the previous financial year. Domestic sales for FY 2013-14 registered marginal growth of 0.3% at 1,053,689 units against 1,051,046 units sold during FY 2012-13. Exports fall by 16% with 101,352 units against 120,388 units exported during the previous financial year.

Segment-wise Sales

The passenger car sales grow decline by 6% for March 2014 at 86,018 units against March 2013 sales of 91,896 units. The Utility segment which includes Gypsy, Ertiga and Grand Vitara, registered sales of 6,499 units in March2014 against 6,488 units in March 2013 registering 0.2% growth. The sales of Maruti Vans – Omni and Eeco stood at 9,752 units in March 2014 marking 3% growth against 9,506 units sold in March 2013.

For FY 2013-14, Passenger Car sales grabbed 3% growth while Utility segment de-grew by 23% as Van sales declined by 8% as against FY 2012-13

Passenger Car Segment, March 2014 – Model-wise Overview

For March2014, sales of Compact Car Segment which includes Swift, Estilo, Ritz and Celerio had registered growth of 9%. The Small Car Segment which comprises models like M800, Alto, A-Star, and WagonR records 11% decline. Sales of Dzire slip by 14% while SX4 declined by 54% in March 2014 against the same month of previous year.

Passenger Car Segment, FY 2013-14 – Model-wise Overview

For FY 2013-14, the Mini Car Segment which includes M800, Alto, A-Star and Wagon R recorded 2% growth against FY 2012-13, while sales of Dzire grew by 17%. Compact Car Segment which includes Swift, Estilo, Ritz and Celerio had registered de-growth of 1%.
