The total sales for Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. for the month of September 2013 stood at 43,289 units including exports which registered a decline of 10% against 43,342 units sold in September 2012. The cumulative year-to-date sales at the end of second quarter of FY2013-14 stood at 241,266 units against 267,263 units sold during the April to September period of previous financial year, registering a decline of sales by 10%.



The domestic sales stood at 40,574 vehicles for September 2013 against 45,263 vehicles in same month of previous year, marking 10% drop in sales. Year to date domestic sales for FY 2013-14 were 228,436 units against 249,072 units registering decline of by 8%.

Exports went down by 12% at 2,715 units in September 2013 against 3079 units in September 2012. The year-to-date exports stood at 12,830 units, 10% less as compared against 2012-13 where 15,112 units were exported.

Segmentwise Sales – September 2013

In Passenger Vehicles segment 18,916 units were sold in September 2013, as against 23,808 units during September 2012, registering 21% drop in sales.

Sales of four wheeler commercial vehicles including Maxximo, Gio, Genio & Bolero Pick marked 2% increase at 14,709 units in September 2013 against 14,417 units in September 2012.

Three Wheeler sales rose to 6% with 6403 units sold in September 2013 against 6048 units in September 2012.

Mahindra Truck and Bus Limited suffered a steep decline of 45% with only 556 units sold in September 2013 against 990 units in September 2012. One of the major factor for this decline is the increase in price of the vehicles in the range of 6000 – 20,000 Rs. Catalysed by the import cost due a weak rupee against dollar.

Year-To-Date Sales Overview – FY 2013-14 

The year-to-date sales for Passenger Vehicles for FY 2013-14 stood at 110,491 units, registering decline of 14% as against 129,150 units during the same period in FY 2012-13.

The year-to-date sales of four wheeler commercial vehicles during FY2013-14 stood at 85,190 units, registering positive growth of 3% against 82,783 units sold in April-September period of FY 2012-13.

The year to date sales of three wheelers recorded 8% decline at 28,409 units exported against 31,016 units exported during the same period of previous year.

The year to date sales of trucks and bus were 4,346 units for financial year 2013-14 as against 6,123 units during same period of FY 2012-13 period, registering a 29% decline.
