In April 2013 48,316 trucks were sold in the Indian domestic market as against  48,889 trucks sold during the same month of previous year.  This is a 1.17 %  decrease in overall sales. Consistent performers in  LCV segment gained them a 3.13% growth whereas M&HCV decades by 10.93%.

M&HCV Segment

In the heavy and medium truck's segment, Tata Motors remains the market leader , even a slight increase in their sales can also be found. They sold 8677 units for April 2013 as against 8460 units sold in April 2012. Meanwhile Ashok Leyland's sales fall down by 22% for April 2013 as against same month the previous year.  None of the other players in the segment recorded positive growth. This was helped Tata Motors to better their market share to 59.45% from 52.25%.

LCV Segment

Mahindra & Mahindra has positives to take from the sales figures for April this year where they recorded a 13.92% increase, with 12,055 units were sold as against a 10,582 units sold for same month last year. The also better their market share to 35.74% in this year's April which was 32.36% for same month last year. Tata Motors is a consistent performer in this segment and remains at pole position with 54.69%.

    A vey detailed report. Can you include segment wise break up of 14595 trucks into tractors, 4 x 2 and MAV haulage, tippers etc.
