The cumulative sales of Bajaj Auto for the month of June 2013 stood at 295,749 units as against 345,165 units during June 2012, registering a 14% decline. Two wheeler sales fall by 20% with 254,544 units sold during June 2013, as against 318,377 units sold in June 2012. Company states that the strike in Chakan plant is the main reason for
this downfall. Some relief came in the way as three wheelers posted 54% jump in sales in comparison with June 2012. Exports also went up by 4%.
The sales for Q1 FY 2013-14 registered a 9% reduction with 979,275 units sold against 1,078,971 units during the first quarter of financial year 2012-13. For the Q1 of financial year 2013-14, Three wheeler sales posted 24% growth, while two wheeler sales fall by 12% as against same period of last financial year. The total exports also declined at 13%.
