Toyota Kirloskar Motor Partners with Bangalore Traffic Police Department for Road Safety Week 2016
Toyota Kirloskar Motor in line with company's safety mission announced its participation and dedicated support to the Road Safety Week organized by the Bangalore Traffic Police Department. This initiative will run through the week of 9th – 16th of January 2016, with the theme for this year as Road Safety – Time for Action.With active participation from over 20,000 children from schools across the city , this year's Road safety week was flagged off at Kanteerva Stadium to create widespread awareness on the importance of road and traffic safety to build a more safer and responsible traffic environment in the city.
The week-long awareness drive was inaugurated by G Parmeshwar, Home Minister, Govt of Karnataka, followed by the release of the road safety booklet by Ramalinga Reddy, Minister for Transport, Govt of Karnataka. The event was also attended by eminent personalities K J George, Minister for Bengaluru Development and Town Planning, B N Manjunatha Reddy, Mayor, BBMP. Mr. Naomi Ishii, MD, Toyota Kirloskar Motor and Mr. T.S Jaishankar, Deputy Managing Director were amongst the dignitaries present from Toyota Kirloskar Motor. The inauguration ceremony also saw the felicitation of the best cops for their commendable efforts and contributions extended to reduce the traffic woes in the city. 18 breath analyzers were donated by TKM, which was handed over to Dr. M A Saleem, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) by the MD, Naomi Ishii.
Bangalore saw 4828 accidents (as of December 2015), this year. On an average, two people die in road mishaps each day in the city.* 20 children under the age of 14 die every day due to road crashes. This initiative will aim at building awareness among the citizens around the growing concern of road safety. Over 20,000 students and around 10,000 public participated for the ceremony. There was march past by the students, as well as different stalls had been set up to showcase different aspects of Road Safety.
Toyota All Set to Showcase its Prowess in the MPV Segment & Hybrid Technology at the Auto Expo 2016
As the countdown begins to the much awaited 'Auto Expo 2016', Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has its pipeline brimming. Built around the themeMobility Evolution through "QDR" (Quality, Durability & Reliability)& Advanced Technology, Safety & Environmental contribution, Toyota hastwo big product launches lined up to showcase its prowess in the new generation MPV segment and passenger car segment with special emphasis on hybrid technology. Toyota will also be launching a breakthrough technology initiative which will further add to customer delight.
Conceptually designed as a 3D Wave Dome, the Toyota pavilion will be situated at Hall No 9 at the Auto Expo 2016. Toyota will showcase their exhibits in three separate zones, namely the New Product Zone, Hybrid Zone & Existing Toyota Line-up Zone. The Toyota pavilion will also consist of three corners, namely- New Initiative corner, Services Corner & Safety Corner. Apart from these, Toyota will also be showcasing CSR Initiatives undertaken in the recent times.
Commenting on the subject, Mr. N. Raja, Director & Sr. Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motorsaid, "This Auto Expo our key focus will be exhibiting our product strengths in the MPV as well as the Hybrid technology areas. Amid the raising concerns for pollution, we see a spike in demand for Hybrid vehicles and thus, hybrid technology is going to be one of our key focus. We are looking at working closely with the government on how to improve hybrid manufacturing in India".
TKM will have an entire zone dedicated to hybrid & alternative fuel technology where the automaker will be displaying Toyota’s cutting edge innovations in both these fields. Toyota is the pioneer in hybrid technology worldwide and has sold more than 8 million hybrid units worldwide. Toyota's Hybrid cars have received overwhelming responses from the customers and the company has already sold 1000 units since its launch in India last year.
"We would like to showcase to our customers this technology which is not only environment friendly but is also often misunderstood to be lacking power" – he added.
At the Auto Expo 2016, Toyota promises to offer its customers an engaging experience and usher in a new motoring experience.
