Tata Motors’ total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in July 2014 were 39,623 vehicles, a decline of 23% over the 51,549 vehicles sold in July 2013.


The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for July 2014 were 35,256 units, a 25 % decline over 47,272 units sold in July last year. The company exports 4,367 units in July 2014, registered a growth of 2% compared to 4,277 vehicles in July last year.

Cumulative sales (including exports) for the fiscal 2014-15 are 149,597 units, lower by 27% over 204,744 units sold during the same period of last fiscal year. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal at 14,594 units, was lower by 7% over 15,712 units, over last year.

Commercial Vehicles

The company’s sales of commercial vehicles in July 2014 in the domestic market were 26,089 units, a 28% fall compared to 36,448 vehicles traded in July last year. LCV sales were 16,364 units, a decline of 39% over July last year, while M&HCV sales stood at 9,725units, remained flat in July.

Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal was101, 254 units, lower by 30% over last year. Cumulative LCV sales were 64,371 units, a decline of 37% over last year, while M&HCV sales stood at 36,883units, lower by 10% over last year.

Passenger Vehicles

Sales of passenger vehicles for July 2014 were at 9,167 units, lower by 15% over the 10,824 vehicles sold in July 2013. Sales of the Nano/ Indica/ Indigo range in July 2014 were 6,703 units, lower by 22% over the 8,546 vehicles sold in July 2013. The Sumo/ Safari/ Aria/ Venture range sales were 2,464 units, a growth of 8% over 2,278 units, sold in July last year.

Cumulative sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 33,749 units, lower by 26% over last year. Cumulative sales of the Nano/ Indica/ Indigo range this fiscal was 25,221 units, lower by 30% over vehicles sold, over last year. The Sumo/ Safari/ Aria/ Venture range sales stood at 8,528 units, an 8 % decline over 9,313 units, sold last year.

  1. At least decline in HCV seems arrested, in the LCV/Car front it may improve from current month onwards owing to start of festive seasons ahead alongwith netwaork expansion plan slated ahead.
