The total sales for Tata Motors in the month of December 2013 stood at 37,852 units compared to 65,582 units in December 2012 registering de-growth of 42%. The domestic sales for December 2013 were 35,010 units as against 61,700 units in December 2012, registering 43% de-growth. Exports decreased by 27% in December 2013 at 2,842 units against 3,882 units in December 2012.


The year to date cumulative sales including exports for Tata Motors during April to December period of FY 2013-14 stood at 435,095 units against 613,750 units during the same period of previous financial year ,registering 29% decline. The year to date domestic sales were down by 31% at 398,835 units against 574,347 units sold during the same period of previous financial year. The year-to-date Exports fall by 8% at 36,260 units for YTD FY 2013-14 against 39,403 units in same period of FY 2012-13.

Commercial Vehicles

Commercial vehicles sales for December 2013 stumble by 46% at stood at 25,738 units against 47,515 units in December 2012. In the LCV segment 18,079 units were sold during December 2013 registering 52% de-growth against December 2012 sales of 37,649 units. The M&HCV segment for Tata Motors marked 22% de-growth with 7,659 units sold against 9,866 units sold during December 2012.

The year to date sales of Commercial Vehicles for FY 2013-14 declined by 24% as 295,319 units were sold against 390,370 units sold during the same period of previous financial year. The year to date sales of LCVs for stood at 214,781 units, 24% decrease in comparison with 281,192 sales units during same period of previous financial year. M&HCV’s year to date sales for the April to December period of FY 2013-14 stood at 80,538 units against 109,178 units in the same period of FY 2012-13, marking a 26% decline.

Passenger Vehicles

In the month of December 2013 Tata Motors sold 9,272 passenger vehicles against 14,185 units sold during December 2012 registering 35% de-growth. The sales of Nano, Indica and Indigo in December 2013 were 6,537 units, decline by 42% as against December 2012 sales of 11,257 units. Sales of Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture range stood at 2,735 units in December 2013, decline by 7% against December 2012 of 2,928 units.

The year to date domestic sales for April to December period of FY 2013-14 is down by 44% with 103,516 units against 183,977 units sold during the same period of FY 2012-13. For the period in review, sales of Nano, Indica and Indigo marked 46% decline which stood at 79,937 units against 146,828 units during same period of previous financial year. The sales of Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture range for April to December FY 2013-14 decline at 37% with 23,579 units against 37,149 units in same period of FY 2012-13.
