TVS Motors registered an increase of 0.6% in total sales for the month of August 2013 at 155,532 units sold against 154,647 units sold in August 2012. The two wheeler sales stood at 148,469units in August 2013 against 150,740 units in August 2012, registering 1.5% de-growth. Three Wheeler sales saw 80.8 % growth in August 2013 with 7063 export units against 3907 units exported during August 2012.
Two Wheeler
The domestic sales for TVS stood at 127,095 units in August 2013, 6.2% lower than the sales for August 2012. Sales of Motorcycles grew by 14% in August 2013 with 61,313 units in comparison with 53,673 units in August 2012. Scooters registered 4.5% decline in sales at 36,478 units in August 2013 against 38,193 units in the same month of the previous year. The sales of mopeds slip by 13.9% in August 2013 at 50,698 units against 58,874 units sold during August 2012. The export for the month of August 2013 were 21,374 units, registered 40.4% increase against August 2012.
Three Wheeler
The sales of TVS three wheeler range has recorded a significant growth of 81% at 7063 units sold in August 2013 against 3,907 units in August 2012. Evidently the growth is propelled by good export numbers which stood at 6051 units in August 2013 against 2707 units in August 2013. The domestic sales of three wheelers stay low at 1012 units, 16% less than 1200 units sold during August 2012
